Gov. Mbah swears-in new Perm. Secs

E

nugu State governor Dr Peter Mbah has sworn-in 13 new Permanent Secretaries with a charge to discharge their duties creditably as the state has humongous programmes to execute through their various ministries.

Performing the function at the government house Enugu on Monday, Dr Mbah noted that Permanent Secretaries are largely the engine room of government and repository of institutional knowledge.

While charging the new Permanent Secretaries to familialize themselves with the government's programmes across the different sectors, the governor maintained that the days of honeymoon were over and it is time for work.

He said his administration has invested hugely in education, health, transportation, agriculture as well as tourism, and urged them to be ICT compliant as the MDAs are uploaded on the e-governance platform of the state government.

Earlier, Mr Ikechukwu Ezenwukwa who spoke on behalf of other newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries, promised to ensure that government policies and programmes are properly promulgated in their various ministries.

He appreciated the governor for finding them worthy to serve in that capacity in his administration.

The permanent Secretaries are yet to be officially assigned their portfolios.
