Gov. Mbah signs N1.62 trillion 2026 budget of renewed momentum into law

nugu State governor Dr Peter Mbah has assented to the 2026 appropriation bill of 1.62 Trillion Naira, and expressed appreciation to the Speaker and other members of the State House of Assembly for their patriotism and expeditious passage of the bill.

Performing the function at the Exco Chamber of the government house on Wednesday, the governor noted that the state will be exiting the year 2025 with over 400 billion as an Internally Generated Revenue.

Tagged; budget of renewed momentum, Mbah said his administration believes that with the unlocking of the different streams of economic potentials in Enugu, the state is confident to realise its domestic revenue target.

He described the budget as people centric and anchored on the principle of inclusivity and sustainable development.

Earlier, the Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Uche Ugwu while commending the governor for his intentional and ambitious disposition to transform Enugu, assured Enugu people of more developmental projects in the state in 2026.

Governor Mbah on December 2, 2025 presented the 2026 budget of renewed momentum before the Speaker and members of the state house of assembly for approval and subsequent passage as enshrined in the constitution.
