Enugu Government Launches Digital Land Transformation, Orders Survey Revalidation

Enugu State Government has commenced the revalidation of land surveys across major government layouts as part of its Digital Land Transformation Programme, aimed at guaranteeing land title security and boosting investor confidence.

The Ministry of Lands and Urban Development, in collaboration with the Office of the Surveyor General, announced that the exercise, which began on August 21, 2025, will run until February 16, 2026.

According to the statement signed by the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Barr. Chimaobi Okorie, the exercise will cover G.R.A., Golf Estate, Golf Annex, Independence Layout, Trans Ekulu, New Haven, and other government layouts in the state.

He explained that the new initiative will introduce a digitally secure and tamper-proof survey system designed to eliminate land disputes, improve transparency, and ensure property security in line with Governor Peter Mbah’s vision of building a modern, investor-friendly Enugu.

All landowners and stakeholders in the affected layouts are required to visit the designated offices to process their Digital Land Identity and secure their property rights for the future,” the statement said.

The Ministry advised residents and landowners seeking further information to contact the Office of the Surveyor General or the Ministry of Lands and Urban Development, noting that official helplines and an online platform—survey.enugustate.gov.ng—have been made available to guide the process.

The revalidation, officials stressed, is a key part of the state’s reforms to restore confidence in the land administration system, which has been plagued by disputes and encumbrances in recent years.
