ENUGU STATE: PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT ON RECRUITMENT INTO THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE

T

he Enugu State Government wishes to inform the good people of the state that recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force has commenced, in line with the directive of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

Accordingly, the government encourages able-bodied, disciplined, and qualified young men and women of Enugu State to apply for enlistment as Police Constables under the following categories:

General Duty Recruits – Police Constables

Specialist Recruits – Medical Assistants

Transport – Drivers (Driver’s Licence is required), Mechanics, Auto-Electricians, Dispatch and Escort Riders

EOD-CBRN – Forensic Assistants/Robotics & Drones, General EOD-CBRN Operatives, Admin/Analytical & Welfare Support

K9 Section – Dog Handlers

Mounted Troop – Horse Riders

Marine – Deckhand (Able Seaman), Launch Quartermaster, Underwater Welders, Electrical/Electronic Technicians, Lathe Machine Operators, Drivers, Marine Engineer Assistant, Boat Mechanics

Artisans – Electricians (including Security Door Experts), Plumbers, Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Technicians, Generator Repairers, Welders

Tailoring – Tailors (with proven tailoring skills)

Communication – Technicians, Operators

Information Technology – IT Operators/Technicians

Band Section – Musical Equipment Specialists

*ELIGIBILITY*

Must be a Nigerian

Must be physically and mentally fit

Must be free from financial embarrassment

Must be of good character

Must not have been convicted of any criminal offence(s)

General Duty Applicants must be aged between 18 and 25 years, while Specialist Applicants should not be more than 28 years.

Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of entry and throughout the duration of training (if successful).

Applicants should be free from conditions such as defective eyesight, knock knees, bow legs, bent arms, deformed arms/legs, flat foot, or amputation of any part of the body.

General Duty Applicants must not be less than 1.67m in height for males and 1.64m in height for females.
In addition, expanded chest measurements for General Duty male applicants must not be less than 86cm (34 inches).

*QUALIFICATIONS*

General Duty Applicants must be holders of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or their equivalents with a minimum of five (5) credits (including English Language and Mathematics) in not more than two sittings.

Specialist Applicants must be holders of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or their equivalents with a minimum of four (4) credits (including English Language and Mathematics) in not more than two sittings. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience and Trade Test Certificates in relevant fields/areas are required.

Candidates must have a functional email account and phone number for all correspondence.

Candidates must upload soft copies of FSLC, SSCE, LGA/State of Origin, and Birth Certificates.

In addition to the above, Specialists are to upload Trade Test Certificates and Driver’s Licence (for drivers).

All applicants shall undergo physical and medical examinations, aptitude test(s), and background verification.
